Hey, Jim Wilie, you're mixing messages... thought you were a better analyst than that. I thought Iso, you, and I were talking about this year's OSU team, and your response to me starts with a paragraph rant on Krenzel. Did I say anything about Krenzel? I happen to agree with your observations about him. McMullen would be my choice (but I don't have a say). You say K is the proof why OSU is 10th in (Big Ten) offense. They are 9th, for the sake of accuracy. You then move on to disparage the offensive line. They could be better. Regardless, my reply to your ridiculous assertion that OSU was mediocre (I guess by that standard any of the teams that is not top ranked is mediocre) was simply that the defense was outstanding and that the team has bought into the mindset of winning as a team, however that is done. You seem to quibble with the aphorism that "defense wins championships". As support you recall last year's team (let's put aside for the moment that in the last sentence of your diatribe you said to forget last year's team) scoring two touchdowns against Miami in regulation. Did you forget the part about Michael Doss intercepting a pass and returning it to the Miami 37 leading to one touchdown, or the fumble caused in Miami territory by the OSU defense, leading to the other touchdown? It is a team game, Jim Willie, and you may not like it, but it is the game desired by the OSU head coach and he gets to make the call. Oh, and he has won 5 national championships with his choice of style.
