It's a bad bill. If enacted, it will hurt Republicans once Seniors discover how bad it is. Millions of seniors who presently have prescription drug coverage already paid by their employers will lose that coverage and have more expense getting it under Medicare.

Why are democraps fighting legislation which will help its members?

The same reason Repulicons are - lobbyists from drug companies have spent ten times more than the tiny AARP. The drug companies have bought the votes.

Health care economists said the drug benefit President Bush proposed for Medicare yesterday would be a bonanza for the pharmaceutical and managed-care industries, both of which are huge donors to Republicans.
