Reforms on Wall Street is a separate issue. Should have been done a long time ago. CLinton should have noticed sooner but Harvey Pitt, Bush's ex SEC guy, was the top lobbyist for the accounting business standing in the way of reforms in the 90's. One reason Bush got rid of him. Before the press looked into his background.

Then Bush went and made Enron's top lobbyist Ed Gillespie the head of the RNC. One of the most dishonest professional liars around who ought to be in prison for the ripoffs he help pull off. What was Bush thinking?

Similarly, Haley Barbour repped WorldCom and got them off the hook for years. He's now the GOP gov of Mississippi. He was raising illegal GOP contribs in Asia while the GOP was attacking Gore for doing far less at a Buddhist temple. And don't even get me started about Halliburton, Carlyle Group and Bectel. The war and oil business have done great since GW took over and no accident. Their new energy bill is chock full of huge ork slabs for Big Energy crontributors at tax-payer expense. Tom Delay insisted on a provision making it impossible to sue makers of carcinogenic poisons, his big contributors. Throw the crooks out.
