Bush's election was the wise bet for six months prior, plus the Bushie Texas phony scam energy crisis sucked 100 billion out of consumer and businesses pockets and threatened to bankrupt California. Put it together with the dot-coms plummeting and you had the Bush recession. It started in March 2001 and Bush-Cheney actually talked it up in an effort I suppose to blame it on Clinton and justify his budget-busting tax cuts for the richest Americans.
