Bloomington/Normal has more restaurants per capita than any other town or city in the us.

I wonder. Friday Harbor claims that prize for Washington State, according to state figures, and I would be surprised if anybody surpassed FH in number of eating establishments per capita.

The official population of Friday Harbor is 2,045

This site lists 29 restaurants.

You can delete the Duck Soup Inn and Roche Harbor -- they're not in town. You can also omit Springtree -- it folded a few months back. That brings it down to 26. But they forgot several. Herb's tavern, which also serves sit down meals. E.T. Amigo's. Backdoor Kitchen. Cousin Vinnie's Cafe. The Flying Burrito. The Legion restaurant. Haley's -- a surprising omission, it's one of the bigger downtown restaurants. Bella Luna Ristorante, also a surprising omission. Jimmy's Paradise Cafe, our newest. Sweet Retreat -- specializing in desserts, but also has soups and sandwiches. Tommy's Pizza and Subs, has both take out and eat in. The Market Chef, only a few tables but quite good. I've probably overlooked a few, but even so adding my additions to the 26 on the list we get 39 restaurants.

Those are all year-round. In the summer there are several open air eating places that open up on the boardwalk across from the ferry landing. And year round the Yacht Club serves dinner to members and guests, but isn't open to the general public. But even without those, 39 restaurants for a population of 2,045 gives you over 19 restaurants per 1,000 population. You sure Bloomington/Normal beats that?

(With a population of 113,098 per this site
visitbn.org
you would need 2,149 restaurants. Start counting!

"Nothing else to do I guess."

They got a boat that seems to draw quite a crowd on weekends. Then there is Illinois State College... and it seems to me Lake-o-the-woods isn't too far down the road.
Not to mention; you can always walk some beans or pick some corn.
