Hi gg, I agree with conservation but that's about lifestyle changes. That's part of my point to Malcolm a while back on public transit in Toronto... Just adding bus lanes and GO trains are tired modestly effective (very modestly) solutions but are likely the bulk of what we'll get. My kids need to be picked up at school and or daycare depending on the day, my daughter skates three days a week minimum plus other activities, we shop big box, I'm self employed (like many in my neighbourhood). My main customer is almost a 1 hour trip by transit (subway) and car and replacing the car by bus well forget about it... car alone 20 - 25 minutes.. The point is I'd need to completely change my life around, if that's even possible to use transit.. so what has this got to do with electricity ? Just an analogy..

What do I do about my 5 computers LOL.. well I remember to shut them down when not being used but typically one is up 24/7. All monitors are off when not in use (CRT's so that is a big deal.)

""Calculations also show that if consumption calculus ?? rule of 72 gives you ;o)

I changed my thermostat to digital with scheduling from the old analog. We have NG heat and water heater. That alone made a HUGE difference in my NG consumption (and bill :o)

I understand that we are moving eventually to LED's for car lights even.. I have a couple of those little LED flashlights. Fit on a keychain and amazing in a pinch.

My sister in Montreal uses a full tank of oil per year to heat her pool and extend the season. Maybe solar should be mandated as the source of pool heating in Canada ?

regards
Kastel
