individual health plans with high deductibles ($2000) are actually reasonably priced until you hit about 50. In my area these are $800/year for 30 somethings and maybe $1200/year for the 40s. We should be able to provide a plan like that for every citizen I would think, employer subsidized. A high deductible ensures that patients don't go in for every stubbed toe, but it covers the catastrophic stuff.

Compared to what we have spent on Bush's pork policies this should be a bargain.
