the reason the british startups fare poorly relative to US startups is because the US market for drugs is CLOSED, and drug companies here engage in price gauging and politicking such that taxpayer dollars are diverted in extreme fashion. Open the markets and guess what, US companies will not do much better than anybody else. Remember the US did not invent the drug industry but we practically invented software and it didn't help once the market was opened.
