Why lie? You have always defended Bush. And now you're pretending to support Dean. You think you're fooling anyone?

I'm confused. I fail to see how any of my posts can be interpreted as support for Dean. Most of my postings on this thread have been about process, not issues. I have never hidden the fact that my politics are right of center.

My world also contains a fair amount of grey. I like to think that most of the people who run for president, regardless of their party, do so out of a sense that they have something to contribute. Our system for selecting a president is flawed, more of a mud fight than the seasoned debate we deserve. At the same time, the process can tell us a lot about the character of the individuals running for office. For me, a consistent integrity is a key element. Bradley and McCain had it in 2000. While it is still too early to give a final assessment, Dean appears to have it. So do Gephardt, Kucinich and Lieberman. Would I vote for Dean, Gephardt, Kucinish or Lieberman? Doubtful. Can I respect them as men of character. Yes.

As for Kerry, his entire career, beginning with his post-Vietnam activities, has had a measured quality to it. By qualifying his vote on the war, he has flunked my personal integrity test. The mere sight of him turns my stomach.

One of the reasons that Bush won in 2000 was the fact that the American people perceived that there was a simple consistency to his beliefs. Kerry's shifting nuances do not cut it. Matched up against Bush, Kerry gets slaughtered.
