And it's so convenient for your to forget that most of the fighting in Iraq is centered on the Sunni communities, not the Kurds and Shiites who make up some 80% of the Iraqi population

...and who are sitting on 100% of the oil, as I recall.

Hi Hawkmoon; Re: "The hell is didn't.. I don't recall Saudi Arabia offering "squat" to the US prior to that invasion. But they sure are "cooperating" now, aren't they?"

There has been no change in Saudi cooperation in the war on terror. The main difference between now and before the war is that the Saudis kicked our soldiers out of their country and raised the price of oil. Nor is there any reason for the Saudis to fear a US invasion. We're quite stuck in Iraq.

Re: "And if anything, it has possibly reopened the possibility of another major source of oil coming onto the market, which would lessen the economic impact of any necessary attack on Saudi Arabia."

These are still just "pipe" dreams, LOL.

Re: "And it's so convenient for your to forget that most of the fighting in Iraq is centered on the Sunni communities, not the Kurds and Shiites who make up some 80% of the Iraqi population."

(a) The Kurds (only about 15-20% of Iraq) were already our allies before the war, the invasion changed little. But the Kurds are so weak that they are of little use in pacifying Iraq.

(b) Actions against our soldiers are lower in Shiite areas, but it's also increasing there.
