great commentary by Russ Winter......

I believe the USA has been functioning "in spite of itself" or to put it another way, functioning in spite of the fact that the Govt is incapable of executing, legislating or implementing any helpful, useful or creative economic or monetary policy at all, they are so busy with their own self indulgences they cannot see a week ahead let alone act on anything pertinent to national interest.

The American economy and standard of living is a huge swinging pendulum and it is now coming back onto us and it will do us great harm both as individuals and as a world power.........

I don't disagree with how you put it, except that we are further along the process than act 25 (of 200). I don't see this as some distant, postponable event at all.

Further if you read my WFYT medicine: 3% plus 3% deficits, it's not exactly unreasonable policy, in fact it's still too high, and a quite reasonable proper, withdrawal medical program for a seriously ill heroin addict.
