I betcha a beer or one of those umbrella drinks you guys in hawaii get each day that it will happen within 10-15 years. One of Sullivans key points is that it is essentially a conservative position to take in supporting monogamy among gays. With so may out of the closet and so much interaction--business, social etc. between gays and straits, denial of basic rights is something that will dissipate quickly. If not what is the message--back to the 70s and multiple partners and disease. I think we will survive accepting the fact that homosexually is normal in the sense that folks have little control over their sexual makeup. And as I meet more gay folk, even if homosexuality could be eliminated by genetic engineering or something akin, i would not be for it because the disappearance of gays would be a net loss for all of us. Much like the disappearance of races, ethnic groups or even spotted owls. mike@ontheleft.com

Wasn't if Aquinas who said, "let me be chaste, but not yet!"

You are thinking of St Augustine.
