" In the past, its the same argument used to justify the largest defense budget on the planet. Now its being used to justify pre emptive war. Next it will be used to justify taking over the world. "

Is rather paranoid. Also even as a description of past events its rather inaccurate. We had the largest defense budget in the world long before Bush's statement, or Bush's election. At least since Reagan's defense budgets, probably since Vietnam and quite possibly since the 50s or even since '42 we have had the largest defense budget in the world.

I am not blaming Bush for our large defense budget although its starting to ramp under his watch. Our defense budget has been huge ever since WW II and uses mass paranoia to justify its existence. The truth is that there is a lot of American wealth and income tied up in the defense industry. They use the paranoia to keep it going. Its digusting!
