Trial lawyers are great -- it's the unlimited contingency fee written by politicians, who are mostly ... lawyers. Given powerlessness of the citizenry, things will continue to spiral out of control until they reach the maximum pain and suffering that people can be convinced to handle.

I visited an older friend in England who had open heart surgery, and had to pay all costs because he was an American. For 6 weeks in the hospital plus surgery it was $2,500, lol!

When I visited the local "Queens Counsel", which is the level above traditional lawyer, he explained that there are NO contingency fees allowed.

The whole infrastructure is geared more towards health than the taj mahals we have here. The hospital was clean but dingy cheap buildings, looking like military barracks from WWII, which they might have been. I talked to the docs, who were well educated, extremely competent by all accounts.

And they all wanted to (wait for it ...) move to America !

How could i forget the trial lawyers?

You had better not. Because any legislation on Health Care backed by the Dems will provide a source of income for the trial lawyers. They and the Teachers are the two key groups backing the Democrats.
