As an interested party I have been delving into this matter. The FACT IS the AARP was INSTRUMENTAL in the DRAFTING of this bill. They are VERY FAMILIAR with all that it contains. They too realize its JUST A BEGINNING but one must start somewhere and to the AARP half a loaf is better then none. They realize AS DO MOST AMERICANS NOW, that the Democrats only give LIP SERVICE to Prescription drugs with NO INCLINATION to ACTUALLY PASS A BILL. It is more important to the Democrapic party to be able to attack the GOP for NOT having a prescription drug program then to work towards beginning such a program. Now THATS THE FACTS.
I see the Democraps are publicly attacking AARP, which means the are publicly attacking every human being in America over the age of 55. jdn

So, you're saying the opponents of the bill haven't even read it? LOL. Typical partisan Democraps. Oppose something before you even know what it is - if the GOP came up with it, gotta oppose it. If the GOP drafted a resolution proclaiming the sky blue, the Dems would try to fight it. And if one in their ranks, or someone representing a group they took for granted, dared say "but the sky really is blue", they'd have a fit, a tantrum, call them nasty names, a traitor, a - gasp! - Republican. Sheesh!
