If Congress is as inept as you portray them, they all ought to be fired. If none of them have even read the bill, how can they be speaking out pro or con? Do you think any of them have staffs? Do you think they have committees who have staffs of highly trained (and paid) specialists who pour over all this stuff and make detailed analyses and reports?

Congress is a big industry and has big resources. To suggest that something like this is being slipped past the poor little dems while nobody watches is like saying an elephant just passed by your desk and you didn't have the time or interest to look up.

The dems' real problem with this legislation is that it's Bush and the Republican - led Congress, not them, who will get the major credit for it, and that the dems are losing yet another of their former constituencies -- retired people.

People are wising up to the fact that today's dem politicians are playing the political game as a means of achieving their own power and aggrandizement, not for the betterment of our society.

You are clueless.
