Thank you. Looks like I'll have to pay this dead white man another visit. For some strange reason, I've always found someone like Hegel to be more "readable" then Rousseau... g/ng.

Well, that is certainly misleading. Rousseau would definitely have repudiated anything like Hitler and the Nazis. Nietzsche, or rather a misreading of Nietzsche (it was pretty easy to misread him), is a more direct ancestor of those guys.
