Hard to avoid the "Schadenfreud" when Turkey gets hit. The more countries these terrorist's hit, the better for us. Especially Muslim ones.

Will NATO take action to protect a European member? Doubtful!

NATO was designed to fight traditional countries, not amorphic international terror groups.

Will the UN? NO!

The UN isn't more or less than what its member states want it to be. After WW II the Allies have chosen a weak design which adapts poorly to changing circumstances. Currently the UN members lack the will to empower the organization sufficiently.

IMO, NATO and UN are structured to take care of issues with legitimate nations, not a bunch of people shooting and killing around the place.

That role is probably more in the realm of the intelligence agencies, so it would be interesting to see how US+UK+Turkish+<whatever> agencies are able to cooperate to contain the situation.
