Here's a good reason why:

8:14AM Barron's Online suggests the markets have a few weeks of selling ahead : Barron's Online suggests market indexes rising wedge patterns, where the market coils tighter and tighter, but with a rising slope, have been broken to the down side. According to the article, theoretically this suggests the markets have a few weeks of selling ahead. Barron's notes technical triggers and events in the financial, commodity and currency markets should make the rest of the year a "rocky road" for investors. The catalysts behind the big change are attributed to global events such as terrorism and a little fear creeping into the markets. Rising wedges means they're hitting lob wedges instead of gap or sand wedges.

This is also as good a reason as any to start a rally here.
