R.D., In your warped world, only the corporations get welfare, as with the insane giveaways that are incorporated into the Medicare and Energy Bills. The lavish subsidies to industry are matched by the additional expense imposed on individuals. This is economics turned on its head. With what should be the servants of the people's welfare becoming the greedy masters of a nation of serfs. Your vision of greatness is most people's vision of desperation and alienation. The world you hope for works for so few human beings that it was rejected world wide by enlightened nations centuries ago. What you want to impose on us is no less than a return to feudalism. The market is the mechanism of enslavement of most of us. With the occasional sociopath who has no conscience, no sense of fair play and no concern for his fellow man rising to the top of this nightmare of social Darwinism.
