this type of very localized bladder cancer is very special and that a high degree of complete responses should be expected.

The following site has some good info and links.

blcwebcafe.org

About 50k cases a year of bladder cancer, of which 80% are superficial.

Here's a quote I found in a link from that site:

Schellhammer: Dr. Herr, please describe your practice regarding immediate intravesical therapy [instilling chemo into bladder - Peter] and your preferred agent.

Herr: We do not use intravesical therapy immediately after resection. It is of value for low-grade papillary tumors as shown in randomized trials, but the benefit is relatively short-lived, and the vast majority of patients experience a recurrence over time. Follow-up cystoscopy still needs to be done at frequent intervals, and small recurrent papillary tumors are often fulgurated in the office at the time of flexible cystoscopy. A formal resection under anesthesia is not necessary in most cases that might benefit from immediate intravesical therapy.

(Note that the other doctors asked all use immediate intravesical therapy)

So maybe there is a pretty decent potential market here for such a small company.
