I don't care what term they come up with to address this ('civil partners', 'marriages of a different sort', whatever....)

If they want to keep use of the word 'marriage' for just hetero relationships, that's fine by me.

If people want to personally disapprove of gays, that's OK too... I support the rights of anyone to disagree with anything they want, and to make their own decisions about morality.

But I see no valid reason to deny property rights to one group and not the other, as a result of such personal judgements. I also see no inherent state interest in discouraging stable long-term partnerships of whatever sort... by way of the tax codes or property rights.
