I think that the democratic party supports gay rights. But they will not support gay marriage either. They cannot do that because it would be a wedge issue with the middle of their own party. They won't touch it with a ten foot pole.

It's going to be left up to states rights and to the courts.

Personally I could give a rip of whether two women, or two men, or a man or a woman, decide to join in matrimony. I don't see the difference it makes to anyone.

The same sex couples will live together, and they might even raise a family together too, why not let them marry?

If it somehow reduced your rights as a married person, then you could argue that it should not be allowed. But it does not. What is at the heart of it is basic homophobia. But you can't blame that on gays and lesbians.
