Been good. Got my head in the books (trading in silicon chips for biochemistry).

I'm hoping (?) that we're nearing a period where I can make some money on stocks again. Since I couldn't find anything I could buy and sleep well at night besides gold, it's been a boring year. The down we are seeing is encouraging in that regard.

This sounds crazy, but I hope for the good of the planet that the reality of the illusion of economic strength here in the US comes out, and quickly, in time to unseat Bush. Like many around the world, I believe he represents a serious threat to world peace and the environment.

Of course, it would be nice to be able to make a trade or two that I could live with - like fading ASKJ or some other such overinflated beanie babies...

PS Have I mentioned lately, that this will all end badly? I don't know *when*, but when is certainly nearer than before. You can't prop up demand with deficit spending forever, and this is *not* your father's economic recovery. There is no sustainable source of demand, and the secular bear has certainly not finished with us yet.
