You can't even SHOWER with MTBE contaminated water. Lawsuits similar to the asbestos lawsuits wait in the wings, while Bush protects his oil buddies by insisting on exempting them from legal action over MTBE.

wonder who put it in the bill? Bush said he would sign an energy bill if put on his desk...Please get Daschle to stand up for something! Is railroading this energy bill through congress to take care of the ethenol folks. I mtbe was developed by ARCO as an anti knock? or octane builder in place of leaded gasoline.. At the time everyone was told to use MTBE. Like a lot of things that gets early released rush through , we find out a few years later may have been the wrong thing to do.
