well, student of the history, name one war that US was involved in the last 100 years or so that was pure defensive

WWII, we were attacked by the Japanese, and our allies in Europe were attacked by the Germans.

you have a problem with my freedom?

None what so ever. I applaud freedom, yours included. I welcome you to America with open arms. Will you ever go back to Russia to fight for freedom there?

I question my government and very often do not like what either republicans or democrats are doing. But on a relative scale republicans are far more responsible than democrats.

This is good. Keep on questioning government. I agree that the republicans are more responsible, responsible for the war in Iraq that is.

if you think that russian people never questioned their government then you are flat out wrong. I would not immigrate if I would like my Russian government.

You left Russia because you wanted more freedom. The freedom to speak out. You have not had that in Russia. Your very immigration to the US proves that you did not like your government.

ok, independent thinker, tell me why is that republicans are bad and democrats are good, all republicans are racists and only democrats supported civil rights, etc But wait a sec, that does not sound like independent thinking - in fact, it does not sound like any kind of thinking.

LOL. The political spectrum is not black or white. Simply shades of gray. There is no good or bad in absolute terms. An independent thinker realizes this right away.

I never said that all republicans were racist. You twisted my words to make an argument. And without the twisting you have nothing but your own shame. Nor did I say that only democrats supported Civil Rights. The truth of the matter is that Civil Rights from Kennedy on has been championed by the Democrats. The conservative democrats known as the dixiecrats moved to the republican party in the 60's during the Nixon's bid for the presidency. In that election the republicans actively sought out the conservative anti civil rights vote in the south and won those states by adopting an anti civil rights stance. The former dixiecrats then became republicans, and that is the current state of the politics.

Once again things in this world are rarely black and white. So if you approach problem solving in this simplistic manner you will not be successful. You have to dig in and sort through the shades of gray to get the real understanding of complex issues.
