free trade benefits everyone. tariffs hurt everyone eventually -- even those they are designed to protect.

the best antidote to terrorism and potential agression is free and open exchange -- unfettered markets. Something that should be tried after all this other garbage fails, IMO.

Most consumers are just trying to survive. Even if they understood, they are not in an economic position to do the right thing for the long term.

I just deleted a lot more of what I have to say because this subject invites the kind of political controversy that dominates and destroys threads like this. Let's stop it here.
