the energy bill includes up to $4000 tax credits for a hybrid vehicle purchase too. my understanding is the prius and civic hybrid will probably be eligible for about $2000 in federal income tax credit. depending on income tax bracket that tax credit (head math only) effectively might be like a $6000 to $10,000 income increase. seems like a good deal to me should the energy bill pass.
