You might think you can just lay siege to Taiwan, starving them into submission. You will find that gets a response. If you lay siege to somebody, that is an act of war and you should expect response along the lines of big bangs. You are obviously confused about who owns what. You don't own Taiwan. The people who live there and who are citizens of Taiwan are the people who own it. China's history will be written by a lot more people than you and Jiang Zemin. I wonder how China would go with a blockade around it. Even 20% tariffs on all exports would cause a bit of a dent in China's economy. 50% would make "Made in China" less common around the world. It would be easier for USS Ronald Raygun, USS Enterprise and their fleets to lay siege to China than for China to lay siege to Taiwan. India might like to pick up the slack as China gets cut off from civilization. I know you are very, very busy and don't have time to read this, so I'll be brief. Japan lost the world's first nuclear war. I wonder if China will lose the second. If they go around threatening people with attack, they are likely to find weapons coming back their way. Look what happened to Saddam and his sons. Look what happened to Omar and Osama's mob. It's best to play nice and not go around threatening war against people wanting to run their own lives. You can see from my comments the kind of direction that things could go. If I'm thinking like this, you can be sure that a lot more people have similar thoughts. Taiwan is a very distinct entity. Now, let's stop all this silly talk about attacking Taiwan and shooting and bombing people there. There's enough mess that needs sorting out without China starting more. Mqurice
