Look at the difference from just a few weeks ago. There was a warning relative to cargo planes from overseas being hijacked, and all relevant agencies, airlines, etc. were notified. No "hiding" it, just getting prepared. Bush is a moron, he has zero knowledge nor sense of history, he is lazy, he has no curiosity about anything, he probably thought: "well, let's see what happens, whatever happens, it's God's will anyways, what I always say is: Bring "Em On!" That's what he thought.

It's amazing that we could have advance warning of the attacks, then we had information about Arabs at flight schools, and then you have Arabs buying one way tickets with cash, and you know that hijackings are likely. And it was already widely know in the intelligence community that Al Qaeda had planned to crash jetliners into targets.

Hard to believe that something was not done. I know I'm dealing with hindsight. But the way that Bush eerily kept reading to the elementary students, instead of excusing himself to take care of the business of the country in crisis, and the way that he hung around the school, let hours go by before he was in AF1, is a part of the story that I can't grasp. He was almost too cool, too calculating.
