This is a terrific bill, bad in the short run, but the best thing to come along for health care in the long run. Because it will make things worse, it will hasten the coming Health Care revolution. More uninsured, higher drug costs for the middle class, many more disgruntled people. These people will vote. If you give idiots enough rope, they will hang themselves. Be patient. I know it's hard, but Bush will get what's coming to him. I am not religious at all, but he will reap what he has sown.

AARP: another scam. AARP also markets insurance.

I checked into their "products" such as long-term care (nursing homes).

Apparently the CEO has been a very busy "businessman" with his hands in all sorts of lucrative enterprises, as long as the LEGISLATION is forthcoming for his ambition.

Members? F*** that ridiculous notion. This man has MONEY to make. Personal wealth to "build."

Might as well be off the backs of those silly dues-paying members.

Don't they know ANYTHING about politics??

They should EXPECT this to be the reality of such a large, influential organization.

Friscoboy, I dealt with the AARP for years. They're a PIA to doctors and other health organizations, consistently undercutting the same in all ways conceivable. They compete with insurance and drug companies on price and, above all, AVAILABILITY. Soon I'll join them...nice people to have on your side, IMHO.
