Larry,
Good point. May be I am wrong. But, this is how I see it:

If the lease rate is low that means CBs want to lease gold out (supply). But, if there are many takers (demand), I think CBs will raise the lease rate to earn more profits.

I'll see if I can make a chart to find out the effect.

Larry,
I went to Kitco web site. Their 1-year lease rates have been dropping continuously as POG rising. I saw the recent spikes of the lease rates, but they are normal right now.
I hope all of the CBs run out of gold soon<VBG>.
