Hi rose,
why weight should be a contributing factor in a person's worth as a human being has eluded me. I don't believe I made that assertion.

rubenesque Yeah we're too wrapped up in being thin. Actually that was my point to elmat on the BMI. To be dogmatic about that is silly. Under 25 ok, over 25 overweight... Not that cut and dry.

metabolism is one thing people have very little control in the main I'd have to agree, although some folks tend to use it as an excuse.

eating and other psychological disorders are a huge problem with young people today Yes they are BUT I have to heartily disagree with your conclusion here unless I'm misreading you. Personal experience on the issue tells me eating disorders like bulimia and anorexia nervosa are personal problems obviously abetted by societal pressures but personal nonetheless. General bad eating habits and lack of physical exercise though are, I agree societal or cultural problems.. I think that is what elmat is driving at. Bad habits inducing obesity etc.. You know like choosing to smoke and likely increasing your odds of being a drain on a public health care system as we have in Canada (aren't you a hoser too :o)

i've always thought that one good thing about forums such as this We are in perfect harmony on this thought..

i'd venture to say that is one benefit of being blind as well. I fear few things but that's one..

2 cents for what its worth. I'll take your 2 cents any day you care to offer it. It's a great deal :o)

regards
Kastel
