Hi gg,
Wasn't the Atkins diet intended as a weight control mechanism primarily ?

By the way I can't eat too much meat 6 oz a day including fish.. Causes the body to release calcium and my body does too much of that already... I'm a kidney stone farm..

This (calcium loss) is also related to diabetes and high blood pressure and of course osteoporosis

regards
Kastel

Of course all the recent studies show those on the Atkins diet had lower cholesterol than those on the low fat high carb diet.Problem is the anti fat folk have made an intellectual investment in their theory and will have to die off before the results of the latest studies become mainstream.
