Keep and Eye Out for American Spirit in a Hot Air Balloon

A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him in an hour, but don't know where I am." The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air balloon approximately 30 feet above ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees 49.09 minutes west longitude." She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican." " I am", the man replied. "How did you know?" "Well", answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to make of your information and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me." The man smiled and responded, "You must be a Democrat." "I am", replied the balloonist. "How did you know." "Well", said the man, "You don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are on a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect ME to solve your problem. You're in EXACTLY the same position you were before we met, but somehow now, its my fault."

"Come to think of it I suppose the internet was made for fools like AS. Hide in their homes posting their drivel anonymously with no fear of being bitch slapped."

Sadly, there's some truth to that. It does allow nutjobs
to freely express what they must to keep to themselves in
the real world that surrounds them.

Why? Because for all their delusion & denial, many of them
really know they are a fringe element with extreme POV's
they themselves can't credibly substantiate. They cling
to questionable beliefs that, when expressed in the real
word, has forced them to be exposed to facts & reality
they wish to avoid at all costs. And they have found that
their genuine POV's are widely unacceptable to folks who
have a grasp of reality (some of these folks probably
wanted to bitch slap them for their relentless lies &
unrealistic, extreme POV's).

If a woman like Anti-AS consistently acted in public like
she does here, she would be a very lonesome person, viewed
as a pariah by many. Folks having any regular contact with
her would be repulsed by her. Heck, even unrepentant liars
can't stand other liars unless they share the same foe.
Even then, most liars know that liars can't be trusted.

These folks probably love the internet. They get to vent
their spleen here, surf their favorite extremist sites
that helps them cling to their misguided beliefs, plus
they get to attack those who disagree with them with
impunity. I think it actually helps these folks live an
alternate life (or at least a toned down one) in the real
world so they can survive.

FWIW, this is not a broad-brush POV, but how I perceive
those few losers on the fringe with extreme views who are
pathological liars.
