Doug,

A few days after signing up, I sent in the signed LOA and copy of my telephone invoice only to be informed that Vonage was unable to process the request unless I sent in my next month's phone bill. Meanwhile, Vonage is charging your account which you can't use to receive calls on your number as they have not yet completed the porting. I called Vonage to have the service charges removed for a service I can't utilize only to talk to 4 different customer service reps who tell me that my only option is to cancel the service and get a refund. I was informed by Customer Service that a "Termination Team" member would be calling me in the next day or so to process the cancellation request. After waiting several days, I called back and spoke with 3 more customer service reps. that tell me since I am now 3 days past my "inital trial offer" of 30 days, I will not receive a full refund. On top of this, they also charge me an additional cancellation fee to my credit card of over $40 since they failed to process my cancellation the first time I called in which was on the last day of this trial offer which I was not aware existed. I am now out almost $130 and have yet to place or receive a single phone call. If you do sign up for service make sure that you are specific in instructing that no "virutal account" is setup for you until they actually port the number over and you have received written confirmation that it has occurred. Regretfully, this will not address the poor customer service and support issues I have described based on my experience. I will hopefully make the plunge again when the CLECs and RBOCs begin to rollout IP voice services in the near future. At least with these providers, I can file a complaint to the FCC and just maybe a little government regulation is what it will take to make the Vonage folks wake up and smell the "Good Customer Service" java. Good Luck.

Regards,
Crash
