GW Bush also claimed there was a big surplus. If you want to call him a liar write the White House. I tend to believe the government numbers which the mainstream press reports. If there was something fishy about it, why haven't any Republicans said anything about it? Just your obscure right-wing opinions from websites no one has even heard of, even the mail-order college Phoenix University. What credibility.

There have been some differing opinions about whether a locked-box even exists for Social Security. None of us know. Bush said there was a locked box and so did Gore. So if they're all lying, then we all need an independent accounting. And if they were lying then, they must be lying now? So how can you trust anything the Bush administration tells you about their "recovery"? frankly, I see no recovery when I look around. We're surviving and living off low-interest loans but that's about it except for the Bush cronies who are making money hand over fist and getting corporate welfare and tax cuts to boot.

Also, if the deficits are much worse than reported, why is Bush cutting taxes?
