And you think Bush succeeded? With the bombings in Turkey, the terrorists thumbed their noses at Bush and Blair. On the day the two were meeting, the terrorists signalled to both "Look, we can strike at you at a time and place of our choosing." Remember the color coded alert system. That failed miserably also. That is why it is permanently stuck at yellow. The Bush administration warned of imminent attacks on Americans but unlike in the past it has not moved the alert from yellow to orange. Why? If they were that sure, then why not move that color. They are not sure at all. They have lost control of their war on terror. To fight a guerilla war where the world is the battleground, you have to do so with the co-operation of the other nations. You cannot go it albeit alone. You need the cooperation of the intelligence communities of the world be they be from Russia, France or Germany. Else this war is lost. And that is the fundamental mistake Bush has made, His arrogance has come in the way. Clinton haters may keep jumping up and down and the conservatives still keep being haunted by the Clinton ghost. But the fact of the matter is during the Clinton years we had prosperity, we were not that affected by terror, we had the respect of the world and the cooperation of the world intelligence community. And here comes Bush and within 9 short months we had the WTC attack. He took off for a Texas vacation, the US let off its guard which it maintained during Clinton years and lo and behold the terrorists struck.
