When the Israeli Air Force refuses to bomb targets, that's a mutiny, not casual disagreement

When 28 air force pilots refuse, that is using insubordination as a political tool. The IAF is not refusing anything; the refuseniks are a small fringe, disapproved of by large margins according to polls - even those with sympathies towards the position mostly disapprove of their methods.

The reason those airmen are being dealt with kid gloves is that the Israeli public would riot and throw out the gov't.

The news accounts understate the public's dissatisfaction, IMO.

I think they overstate it, esp. Haaretz. The results of the last elections, which took place only 9 months ago, support my position much more than yours. Labor and Meretz lost the election, lost seats, lost all around. The Right turned out for Likud, and the Center turned out for Shinnui. The Left is far more discredited than the government.
