They require Part B because they want Medicare to pay its share before they pay theirs. They could do the same for drugs. Or they could just give up drug coverage altogether and leave you with Medicare's coverage.

I think it's reasonable to expect that all of us with current drug coverage will be worse off. Many/most HMOs don't offer drug coverage. There's a lot of risk in it for the ones that do plus a lot of overhead. I'd expect Kaiser to drop drug coverage in exchange for a lesser premium increase next year.
