There is certainly room for other opinions. But what is wrong is this hatred of them for doing it.

I agree with that.

What was also wrong was calling those who have other opinions "traitors." Had that not happened early on, had there been acknowledgement that there is room for other opinions, perhaps the backlash Bush hatred would not have happened.

I saw the GOP commercial the other day, the one that says that those who don't agree want to "retreat." That labeling is a notch short of "traitor," I guess. <g> "Retreat" is not the same as "acknowledge errors and correct them." If the war side had more readily acknowledged room for other opinions, then the containment side would be more tractable. If they did so even now, then the discussion could end over how we got into this and we could focus on how best to proceed from here.
