AS,

We agree that Kerry has to do better than he has been. I'm certainly happy to have him as the candidate, as long as he steps beyond his wishy-washy image of vacillation and attempting to be all things to all people. That act sucks.

He needs a spine, and he needs to demonstrate that he stands for something.

The best endorsement I've heard recently about Kerry came from Robert Kennedy, Jr. speaking this week at the National Press Club. Kennedy gave a ringing endorsement of Kerry's environmental record. It is the best among all the candidates, according to his voting record. Yet, Kerry downplays this strength in order to play both sides of the issue. A typically cynical political decision, and an indication that the man lacks conviction.
