LindyBill, Colin has risen to where he is inspite of his being black is because he has always been a company man. He does not believe in causing waves. Aye, aye sir kind of guy.

In 1991, it was Bush Sr. in consultation with Rev. Billy Graham who decided not to march into Iraq to prevent the projected loss of innocent lives. Now I am not going to get into whether that was the right decision or not. But the decision was made by our then President. And it is a well known fact the when Gen. Schwarzkoff was on the phone with Gen. Powell from the Ovel office being ordered to abandon plans for march to Baghdad. he refused Powell's order. At that point President Bush took the phone from General Powell and had to tell Gen. Schwarzkoff that as his C in C he wal ordering him not to march to Baghdad. At that point Schwarzkoff retreated. That is one of the reasons Scwazkoff was not given that much of a public welcome.

So Powell had nothing to do with it.
