JFK reportedly wanted us OUT of Vietnam. That means he was not a hawk like LBJ. But he was strong and did not back down from threats. That was proven during the Missile Crisis.

Unlike what the Anne Coulters of the world say, JFK was not a "traitor". He was bold and courageous and had our best interests at heart. He also knew the value of peace and the dangers of a war which was not for self-defense purposes. Perhaps the real "traitors" are those who are overly hawkish to the point of wanting to start wars with no real purpose nor end-game, blowing up boogey-men to scare us and thereby costing Americans lives and humungous debt.

We have one of those types in the White House now. Not a traitor, because I don't use that language, but someone who is less wise and less prudent that someone like JFK. Also someone whose cronies directly profit from war.
