amd being, well, amd AGAIN...

"AMD has announced that it will delay 90 nanometer production by one quarter. AMD has had to cut R&D spending substantially, and this undoubtedly has had a detrimental effect on new product introductions. Transitioning from the 130 nm generation to the 90 nm generation is in some respects more difficult than was the 180 nm to 130 nm transition since electrical leakage issues become severe below 100 nm."

Room - you are starting to sound like the Alpha guys - each rev of the Alpha got those kind of rave reviews, and Alpha advocates were always claiming that a 'can of whoop-ass' was about to be served up.

By the way, Alpha, a 'dead' processor, currently outsells Itanium by 3 to 1 even if we accept Oteliini's numbers.

Also, a test of Opteron versus Itanium had opteron running neck and neck on virtually every benchmark. The difference was the Itanium system cost ten times as much as the Opteron system.

But keep up the cheerleading.
