Wow......you've got it all figured out. Thats the first warning bell........... caution advised.....ding ding ding ding Your whole response focuses on Vancouver. Vancouver is a tree not a forest. We can hope that Bush is just posturing and doesn't intend to carry this any further. Not much of a plan. I said: "or open the entire S.E. Asia to ourselves via China as the door to North America" Ralph had it right...I was talking us being a preferred exporter to S.E. Asia. I should have said as the door "from" North America I guess. ( wheat, lumber, base metals and any other manuf. and hi-tech crap, financial services, expertise, education that we can peddle from any source in North America). A small percentage of S.E. Asia trade would float our economy. The US would need 10 times our req'd volume of trade. Now, I know you're thinking "Wow...what a great plan" but I still have some fine tuning to do. By noon tomorrow I should have it ready. :o) cheers C
