Dean is the most leftist on taxes (100% rescindment of tax cuts), war and terror ("Hamas are soldiers"), health care (full government coverage), foreign policy (wants human rights sanctions against the Saudis) and gay rights (pro civil unions and has support of most gay groups). I don't count the three minor candidates. Balancing a budget doesn't mean you're not liberal, in fact most governors are REQUIRED by law to balance their budgets. And balancing a budget in Vermont is easy. They don't have major problems up there to deal with. Never have. It's a nice quiet little state full of nice mainly-affluent, mainly liberal people. It's a very mellow place. It's not reality compred to the rest of the country. Doesn't even have a city. Dean is not anti-guns because Vermont is a rural state. If he had a city there he might be pro gun control. Dean has impressive qualities, but he's totally the wrong candidate to send against someone like Bush. Bushies will Dukasize Dean in a matter of days once they finally need to start criticizing him. Until then, they want him to succeed.
