5 more Pakistanis back from Camp X-Ray

Staff Report

ISLAMABAD: Five more Pakistanis detained by US armed forces returned to Islamabad airport from Camp X-Ray in Guantanamo Bay in Cuba on Saturday by a special flight. Their names are Laiqat Manzoor, Wajid Mahmood, Talha, Muhammad Ishaque and Muhammad Ijaz.

They reached the airport under tight security by American commandos and were handed over to Pakistani law-enforcement agencies from where they have been taken to Adiala Jail. Twenty Pakistanis have been released so far from Guantanamo Bay by the American forces while 37 are still languishing in Guantanamo Bay detention centres. “The government is trying its utmost to bring back the rest of the Pakistanis,” Javeed Iqbal Cheema, Director General of the Crisis Management Cell of the Interior Ministry, told Daily Times.
