The tone of the poster said it all: the unctuousness, the clichés of thought and language, the almost automated moral triumphalism. The "left" has not changed over the years, it has only become more and more confidently embedded in our schools and other institutions. I attended the opening public meeting of my university's Socialist Club after seeing their posters plastered everywhere: "The Failure of American Capitalism" - in 1998. Three history profs, a Sociology prof, and four students giving a symposium followed by a q and a. Biggest sham I've ever attended. And they only called on members of the club in the q and a.
