khang,
You mention the Repub confab in Florida, but you didn't mention these comments made by one Repub against another Repub..

Tommy Thompson in his address to the group and one Haley Barbour in particular:

Said he was glad Mr. Barbour's new job would keep him out of Washington "so we don't have to be subjected to the heavyhanded lobbying by your firm trying to get all of those deals" for his blue-chip clients.

Some in the audience started to squirm, but Mr. Thompson plunged ahead. "Actually," he said, "it's been a saving for the federal taxpayers now that you're here" and no longer a lobbyist.

I guess Thompson must be looking for a new job!!!!

And THAT says it ALL, for 80% of America...

<<"Eleven months from now, we will choose between victory in Iraq or insecurity in America," he said. "Eleven months from now, we will choose between more money in the pockets of America's families or more money in the coffers of the federal government in Washington. And 11 months from now, we will choose between a leader of principle or a politician of protest, of pandering and of pessimism.">>
